Franca Gualmini was born in Pavullo nel Frignano and began exhibiting in Modena in 1986.

She continued with her solo shows at the Sala Gialla in Carpi and the Church of the Rosary in Sestola (Modena) and then in Pavullo, in Palazzo Ducale with "Before the Gesture". Since then she has exhibited more than 180 times in Italy and abroad.

Some of her most important exhibitions were: a personal exhibition in 1998 "Large Canvases and Small Jewel Pictures" at the Carlo Scarpa Space, in Piazza San Marco 101 in Venice, held simultaneously with the Biennale. Since 1999, she has held 6 solo exhibitions, in conjunction with exhibitions dedicated to Vincent Van Gogh, including 4 at the University of San Basso in Venice, one in Paris at the Espace de Nesle and then in Bardolino, as a guest of the Countess Rambaldi.

She has also received many awards: a work was listed for the Breda Prize in Pistoia which was held in the former convent of the Carmine in Florence; then she was awarded first prize in the graphic section for the Borgoforte Italy Prize for the visual arts in Certaldo (FI). – She was also awarded a prize at the Modigliani gallery in Milan. Her work was also listed at the Fiorino d'Oro in Florence, and she was awarded First prize by the public in Baiso (Re) Apennine Villages and then in Montefiorino 3 purchase prize. She was awarded the Emilio Greco International Prize at the Accademia Federiciana of Arts in Catania, the Taormina Award at Palazzo dei Congressi; as well as awards at the Teatro Regio in Turin and the Dea Minerva Prize in Florence.

She also produced the book "Miniatures" for the exhibition with Van Gogh - Editions Atelier du Midi - Paris. A tile decorated in gold, which became part of the Assopiastrelle collection. In 2004 she produced an engraving, which was authorized by Ferrari, etching with 18 k gold, as a limited edition, dedicated to Formula 1, of which the 1/150 became the property of M. Schumacher.

Another successive edition was dedicated to the Centenary of the Rotary Club International. In 2006 the solo show at the "La Telaccia" Gallery in Turin, was later selected to show in Montecarlo – at the Hotel de Paris. In 2007 she created the book "In Equilibrium on the Soul of the Pensive Poppy" which was exhibited in Florence at the Pitti Palace Hotel and then at the Galleria museum in the historic centre of Florence.

"Words and Signs in the Blue" was the title of a new book in 2012 with images and short poems by the same painter. In 2013 she exhibited at the Museo del Balì in Pesaro The following year she exhibited in a museum with Gino Severini. Apainting entitled "Wings Broken" from November 2012, rom was delivered to Pope Benedict XXVI in 2014. In 2014 she exhibited in a solo exhibition at the Castello di Pompeano Serramazzoni and in a collective exhibition at the Tornatora Art Gallery in EUR, Rome. In 2015 she was represented at the Galli Foundation in Milano. In 2016 she had a solo exhibition of only portraits at the Galleria 82 in Pavullo nel Frignano. In 2016 she exhibited at the Salvador Dalì museum in Berlin and at the Miit Museum in Turin. In 2017 to celebrate the birthday of Vittorio Sgarbi in Venice , she was selected for the Pro-biennale exhibition at the Chiostro di San Francesco delle Vigne. During 2017 she also exhibited in Perugia and in Barcelona.
